Thanks to everyone who went to the Adopt-a-Family shopping and CiCi's for gift wrapping last Thursday. We are sure the families will appreciate your hand-picked gifts so much! We hope you had fun!
Next semester, we'll be working toward our big event, the carnival. Leadership positions are open (and they look great on college applications), so sign up for a leadership position!
There will be a meeting next week, but it's just to finalize t-shirt sales. Bring in $10 for your t-shirt, the design courtesy of Emily D.!

Hey guys!
This Thursday (December 6th), we are shopping for a needy family using the money we raised from cleaning up the stadium. At 4:30, we'll be at the Wal-Mart on 92 to shop, and afterward we'll eat at CiCi's Pizza a few shops away. Please RSVP to lhs.interact@yahoo.com no later than Tuesday if you are coming.
Thank you so much for all you collected on the candy drive, and all the work everyone did on the Veteran's Day wall! The Blood Drive went really well (except for the fact that we had to cut people off because of lack of staff), so thanks very much for that also!
We'll see you at the meeting tomorrow! Bye!

I hope everyone had fun at the t-shirt decorating party! Thanks for coming! And also, we are SO grateful to all the people who helped clean up the stadium after the game. It went by really quickly, all thanks to you guys! THANK YOU!
Our Candy drive is doing a great job! Don't forget to bring in some candy for cancer patients!
The Veteran's Day Flag in the main hall will need to be decorated this week. We'll put up the times that we need help with in a little bit. Stay tuned to this blog to see! Thanks!

Hi everyone!
To everyone who could come, thanks for being there for the Induction Ceremony. Congratulations to all the new members!
Congratulations are also due to the following event chairs:
Katie L.- Candy drive chair
Erin G. and Gigi G.- Blood Drive chairs
Laura C. and Tanvi R.- Veteran's Day Flag chairs
So, with these new event chairs, we've got all the events! Our Candy drive after Halloween for cancer patients will start within the next two weeks. Our Blood Drive is scheduled for November 19th, 2007. The Veteran's Day Flag in the front hall will need to be decorated with stars of family/friends who have been in the wars. The t-shirt decorating party will be at Mellow Mushroom on November 2nd, at 5:30, with the Stadium Clean-up immediately following the football game the same day.
We need all your help in each of these events, especially the Blood Drive and the Stadium Clean-up! We'll see you next week, and good luck with everything this week! Thanks!

Thanks to everyone who went to the Make a Wish 5k! Despite the fact that it was really cold, we appreciate everyone who went. Congrats to Brian G. for getting the fastest time in our group!
The Induction Ceremony is THIS THURSDAY from 4-5:30! If you paid your dues, you will receive an invitation in advisement tomorrow. If you can't remember if you have or not, e-mail us and we'll try to respond back in time.
We have decided to try something new this year: Sub-Committees with event chairs! If you want to sign up to do one of them, just talk to one of the officers or e-mail us. Here are the upcoming events (with a star next to the ones needing event chairs):

Whoops, a day late...
Thank you to everyone who went to Garrison Mill's Fall Festival. We appreciate the effort everyone gave!
The Make a Wish 5K is this Saturday, the 13th! We're meeting at 7:30 in Marrietta Square. Follow the crowd of people, and we'll be there!
The Induction Ceremony is scheduled for October 18th. There will be pizza, drinks, and games for new and old members, but you must have your dues and paperwork turned in by October 15th. That's next Monday. Thank you!
On November 2nd, we're scheduled to clean up the stadium after the football game. PLEASE, we need your help. The more people show up, the faster we can get it done, and you can go home after thirty minutes or so. If not, everyone will be stuck there for hours trying to clean up. Even if you cannot go to the game, please show up during 4th quarter or something to help afterward! Thank you very much.
We are planning on doing the Red Cross Blood Drive on November 19th. This is going to be a big event, and we need everyone's help! We'll tell you more about it next meeting.
Student of the Month starts this month. By going to meetings and events, you get certain amounts of points. Whoever gets the most points and/or whoever gets voted on by the club will win; we are thinking about getting gift cards to a place for you! Also, two students of the month at the end of the year are selected to go to the RYLA conference. It's a lot of fun! So participate to win!
Finally, we are doing a candy drive for Halloween. After Halloween, please save any extra candy that you get (or even things you don't want) to donate to cancer patients. Thanks!

The Garrison Mill Fall Festival is THIS FRIDAY! Yay! We will be helping out with things like Sand Art, Face Painting, the giant Moon-Bounce and Slide things, and much more. When you arrive (somewhere around 4:45), check to see Lauren at the Volunteer Booth we should have to see what you're supposed to be working on. Again, the festival ends around 8, though it may be a little longer due to the fact that we might help out to clean up. If you can only come for part of the time, please do! We need all the help we can get :)
The Make a Wish 5K is not this Saturday, but next: the 13th. On the registration form, please bring in the $12 group fee. This needs to be turned in by next Monday, October 8th, so we can get everyone registered on time. Thank you!

The Garrison Mill Fall Festival is coming up on October 5th! We're scheduled to help out the parents with the games and food. Again, it's from 5-8 P.M.: make sure you have turned in your permission slips, or you won't be able to go!
The Make a Wish 5k is also approaching, on October 13th. Registration begins at 7 A.M., run at 8. If you have any more questions, just look at the website provided in the previous entry, or e-mail/call the presidents! The cost is $12 per person if we have a group of 10 or over going, so don't forget that money and the registration form :) In previous years, you have gotten a goodie bag and t-shirts if you register. Plus, the run itself is really fun. Again, make sure you have turned in your permission slips if you want to go! Extra forms will be provided next week if you didn't get one today.
The Induction Ceremony has been moved back to (tentatively) October 17th. That is the day of the PSAT and a supposed early release day however, so again, the date is tentative. Please pay your $20 dues to become a full member of the club!

The second entry has all our e-mails, and you (hopefully) received Katie's and Lauren's e-mail and phone number if you need to contact them. You may also e-mail all of us at lhs.interact@yahoo.com . Turn in your forms and dues ASAP! Dues are $20; checks made out to LHS Interact. If you did not receive the forms, they are in the previous entry- just print them out and turn them into Mrs. Perkerson or wait until the next meeting. Please get them in sooner rather than later!

First Meeting
Hi! Welcome to the Lassiter Interact Club blog! We also have a facebook group, so join ASAP :P The link is at the bottom of this page!
Interact is a community service club dedicated to, well, helping our community. We do such activities as helping out at the different fall festivals at nearby elementary schools, Project Open Hand, Quarters for Cancer, Books on Tape, and much, much more.
